21. How to cook Super Easy Taiwanese Braised Pork Rice.

This a popular Malaysian Chinese recipe that orginated from Taiwan.


  • 500g of Pork belly.
  • 15g of rock sugar.
  • 700ml of chicken stock.
  • 70g of shallots - chopped.
  • ½ cup of white rice wine.
  • 2 cloves of garlic - chopped.
  • A few dashes of white Pepper.
  • 4 hard boiled eggs - optional.
  • 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil.
  • 1 teaspoon of five spice powder.
  • ⅓ cup of premium dark soya sauce.
  • 8 pieces of dried mushrooms - diced.
  • ⅓ cup of low sodium light soya sauce.

22. How to Make Crispy Golden Yam Ring.

This well known dish among Chinese all over the world. They mostly celebrate Chinese New Year with home-cooked “Crispy Golden Yam Ring”.

Ingredients for Yam Ring

  • ¼ tbsp of Salt.
  • 1 tbsp. of Sugar.
  • 1 tbsp. of shortening.
  • 300gm skinned Yam.
  • 45 gm Wheat Starch.
  • OKI Premium Cooking Oil.
  • 45 gm boiling hot Water.
  • ¼ tsp five spice powder.

Ingredient for Garnishing

  • 1 handful of Rice vermicelli.


  1. Trim yam and cut into small cubes and steam for 20 mins or until soft.
  2. Pour hot boiling water into wheat starch, mix thoroughly. Cover with cling wrap and let it rest.
  3. Transfer cooked yam into to a bowl.
  4. Add salt, sugar, five spices powder and mash with potato masher.
  5. Add wheat starch paste, shortening and mix until well combined.
  6. Place the yam paste in a grip seal/ zipper bag.
  7. Pat, roll and shape the dough into a strip with your hands of about 20 cm x 15cm.
  8. Seal tight and put in freezer for about 30 mins.
  9. Once the yam paste is firmed and pliable, remove from freezer and divide the dough into 3 equal part for about 5cm width each.
  10. Join the 2 ends to foam into a ring.
  11. Place yam rings in freezer for about 30 mins until it is firm for deep frying.
  12. Heat OKI Premium Cooking Oil in a wok.
  13. Fry rice vermicelli until crispy. Drain and set aside for garnishing.
  14. Remove yam ring from freezer and place it on a sieve. Gradually place yam ring into OKI premium cooking oil, deep fry until golden brown and crispy.
  15. Drain and set aside.
  16. Spread fried rice vermicelli on a serving plate as base. Place the crispy yam ring on the center.
  17. Fill crispy yam ring with stir fry filling.
  18. Serve hot and enjoy.

Ingredients for filling

  • OKI Premium Canola Oil.
  • 200gm debone chicken drumsticks.
  • 8 tiger prawns.
  • 3 dried mushroom.
  • ½ yellow capsicum.
  • ½ red capsicum.
  • 4 holland beans.
  • ½ Carrots.
  • ½ onion.
  • 1 tsp. of chopped Garlic.
  • 2 tbsp. of Cashew nuts.

Ingredient for Gravy

  • 1 tbsp. of Soya sauce.
  • 1 tbsp. of Oyster sauce.
  • ¼ tsp. of Sesame oil.
  • 1 tbsp. of Shao Xing Hua Tiao cooking wine.
  • 4 tbsp. of soaked dried mushroom water.


  1. De-skin, trim fat and dice the chicken drumsticks.
  2. Marinate chicken drumstick with a dash of soy sauce, pepper and corn flour.
  3. Add OKI Canola oil in a pan, add prawns and stir fry until it turns pink.
  4. Remove and set aside.
  5. Add chopped garlic, onion and stir fry until fragrant releases.
  6. Add marinated chicken and stir fry until color changing.
  7. Add mushrooms, yellow capsicum, red capsicum, holland beans and carrot, stir well.
  8. Add gravy ingredients and stir to mix well. Add prawn and cashew nuts and bring to boil.
  9. Dish out and set aside for filling in the center of crispy yam ring.

23. How to cook Masak CHICKEN BIRYANI.

This is a well know Malaysian Dish. Chicken Biryani adalah makanan yang berasal dari India dan sudah sangat terkenal dimana-mana karena rasanya yang lezat dan bisa dinikmati oleh semua orang.


  • 175gm Beras Basmati.
  • Bumbu untuk Beras : 1 sdm Wisman, 1 bh Daun Salam (Bay Leaf), 1 cm Kayu manis, 2 bh Kapulaga, 2 bh Cengkih, 6 bh Lada hitam bulat, Garam & Air secukupnya.
  • 250 gm Ayam.
  • Bumbu untuk Ayam: 2 sdm Wisman, 1 bh Daun Salam (Bay Leaf), 1 cm Kayu Manis, 1 bh Kapulaga hijau, 2 bh kapulaga Hitam, 2 bh Cengkih, 1/4 sdt Jintan biji, Kaldu Ayam secukupnya.
  • Bumbu Marinasi Ayam: 1 bh Tomat, 1 buah Bawang Merah Besar (di goreng), 2 siung Bawang Putih, 2 cm Jahe, 1/2 Cup Plain Yogurt, 1/2 sdt kunyit, 1/2 sdt Cabe bubuk, Garam and Lada Hitam secukupnya.

24. How to Make Rendang Ayam Hari Raya Special.

Resepi Rendang Ayam, resepi yang diadaptasi dari Chef Wan. Hidangan yang sedap dimakan bersama lemang, ketupat ataupun juga pulut kuning.


  • 8 shallots.
  • 6 cloves Garlic.
  • 3 Lemongrass stems.
  • 3 inch Ginger.
  • 3 inch Galangal.
  • 3 pieces of Turmeric live.
  • Red chili and Bird's eye chilli.
  • 4 pieces of Candle nut.
  • 1 big onion.
  • 1 cup of dried chilli paste.
  • 4 pieces of lime leaves.
  • 1 chicken, cut into small pieces.
  • 1 ½ seed extract of coconut milk.
  • 4 tbsp kerisik (grated and toasted coconut then ground to a paste).
  • 2-3 pieces asam gelugur (can be substitute with tamarind paste).
  • Salt and sugar to taste.
  • Fine slices of turmeric leaves.

25. How to cook Karipap Pusing Sedap, Gebu dan Rangup.

This is a well know Malaysian Dish. Karipap Pusing yang sangat glamer pada setiap kali tibanya Ramadan.

INGREDIENTS for Curry puff filling

  • 3 tbsp. of cooking oil.
  • 3 cloves of Garlic.
  • 3 shallots.
  • 1 inch Ginger.
  • 3 tbsp. of Meat curry powder.
  • 1-2 tbsp, of Chilli powder.
  • 200g. of minced Beef.
  • 1 tbsp. of black Pepper powder.
  • 400g of Potatoes.
  • Some water, so that the potatoes are cooked and tender.
  • ½ large onion.
  • Salt and Sugar to taste.

*add more sugar to liking.


  • 300g of plain flour.
  • ¼ cup of cooking Oil.
  • 2 tbsp. of Margerine.
  • ½ tsp. of fine Salt.
  • 125ml of ice cold water.


  • 150g of Rice flour.
  • 200g. of Margerine.
